CloudStack 2.x and 3.x now supported!

Click CloudStack to enter your cloud’s keys.

It is my great pleasure to announce that CloudStack 2.x and 3.x are now fully – and beautifully – supported by Scalr.

There are many reasons for building a private cloud, among which are satisfying client (ie., foreign government) or organizational (ie., corporate policy) constraints, repurposing existing hardware, or getting the exact hardware your applications need – like SSDs, high amounts of RAM, or dual network cards. There are commercial reasons too: you could join one of the many service providers worldwide that offer infrastructure as a service for a fee, such as Korea Telecom and IDCF.

This integration lets the savvy administrator manage all his infrastructure – public, private, you name it – in one place, and offer his organization all the agility it wants. It might also let the savvy entrepreneur customize and white-label Scalr to differentiate his offering from others’.

It also makes it possible for Scalr to support all the CloudStack-based commercial clouds in one fell swoop, and we’ll be adding them as legal barriers get cleared.

Inputting your keys is easy as pie.

We’re furthermore pleased to say that this work was made possible thanks to the outstanding team at Citrix developing CloudStack, as well as the very helpful Apache CloudStack community. Many thanks!

Cheers,
The Scalr “open clouds ftw!” Team
